Smashing simplistic chord patterns in dirty distortion, throwing out lyrics and messing about with riffs, there are moments when you can imagine Hired Muscle right in front of you – breaking something. Natives to the fairly unknown town, Bletchley in Milton Keynes, this adrenalin pumped trio spit out that good old-fashioned punk message of ‘let’s just get fucked and jump around’. They’ve even ended on a come-down song, ‘Eroding’, an alternative piano version of the thrashing guitar track ‘Erosion’ that kicked off the party. It’s not groundbreaking, it’s not thought-provoking, it’s just exciting, even when you’re sober.
