Pippa

pippasayspictureAll of the world’s greatest musicians were once unknown – until someone noticed them. I live my life through this philosophy and ‘Pippa Says’ was created to discover undiscovered music by musicians who have the potential to be great.

Despite joking with my friends about ‘Pippa Says’ being my alter ego, I’m the same girl in real life. On any normal day, I am listening to BBC 6 Music, Radio 1 and Amazing Radio, reading at least 5 music reviews from different publications and finding new music.

I’m an English girl but it’s often difficult to pin point where I am in the country because I like to travel. I study journalism at University of Sheffield, grew up in Milton Keynes and went to Brighton Institute of Modern Music a few years ago. Sometimes it feels like I’m living three different lives.

My love of music is driven from the fact that I’m a musician. For a long time I dreamt of being a pianist-singer-songwriter, until I found out how much I loved writing about music too.

As you’ve probably gathered from this blog, I’m a lover of all genres. My most-listened to playlist on spotify currently consists of Alt-J, Foals, Lianne La Havas and Laura Mvula. Yet, my all-time favourite band is Deftones (don’t get me started on why, I will not shut up.) On the total other end of the spectrum, my answer to the “who most in the world would you love to interview” question is always Joss Stone, one of my greatest influences.

My obsession with new music stems from my self-confessed muso personality. There’s something extremely exciting about watching new bands grow and reach their potential.

It’s been a life-changing three and a half years with the existence of this blog. To those who have supported me up to this point, I want to say a big thankyou.
